When you launch a course, you're not only impacting other human beings, you're also impacting your bottom line, your personal brand, and even your email list. It's an all-around no-brainer for this New Year!

Are you now, or would you like to be a "thought leader" in your industry? Well, creating a course shows that you possess in-demand knowledge that you know how to package and offer. Even if NOBODY buys your course, it's a right of passage to be a pro on any given topic.
It's your ticket to booking more speaking engagements, landing interviews on more podcasts, and becoming a sought after leader in your field.
2. strengthens your brand
As a consultant who works with some amazing entrepreneurs, I know one thing: as talented and passionate as you are - your brand is your identity. Without a strong brand, you and your business is nothing.
How does a course fit into your branding?
When you lauch a well-constructed course, it has been crafted to fit your brand identity and helps better explain who you are and what you do. In essence, the course should answer the question "What am I all about?"

In 2015, the online courses industry hit $107B in revenue which is INSANE.
There were roughly 2.5 Million published online courses.
That means that on average, each course sold $42,000.

Sell 500 courses at $100 each = $50k
Offer a $250 upsell to those 500 and 50 purchase = $12,500
Offer a $1000 product to your 500 and 10 buy = $5,000
Boom - You've got yourself an extra $67,500. You okay with that?

I've gotten this question (or some variation of it) a lot: How do I attract the right people to my business? How do I attract people like me to my social media pages? What do I post to get them interested or engaged?
Well, here's the answer that might scare you: post whatever the *funk you want to. *Funk optional.
For example, if you're a cool/chill cat, you'll be attracted to a cool/chill cat. I mean, you clicked on this blog post that has a cool/chill cat in the image! Wearing glasses! I think the image is pretty cool. Maybe you did, too. Maybe, just maybe, you're a little like me: has a good sense of humor, interested in business/marketing/entrepreneurship (based on the title), isn't afraid of risks? I mean, who else would use this kind of image?!
Here's the 1 thing that is holding you back from attracting the right people: overthinking. If your target demographic is like you, then post whatever interests you. If they're NOT like you, either learn all about that demo or bring on an expert who gets it.
The day you stop worrying about what you're posting is the day you'll start attracting (and retaining) the people who care about what you're doing. They'll care about you and your mission MORE SO than if you're simply pandering to what you think they'd like.
I always use this quote, but it's because I live it: "When you're authentic to yourself, you attract what's meant for you".
No, I don't use a blogging tool to help outline my blogs. No, I don't have stage fright before speaking on stage. No, I don't flinch when working with a multi-million dollar client.
Why? Cause I know who I am, and I live it on a daily basis - in life and on social.
Yes, it took me 31 years to (somewhat) understand who I am and what I'm all about. Yes, it's scary to feel comfortable being myself. Yes, it's amazing to feel confident in everything I do because I'm confident in who I am. Yes, I'm also a lunatic.
People are attracted to YOU... not some masked-over, make-believe version of yourself that you imagine others would be attracted to.
Take off the mask(s). Be whomever you are. Allow your tribe to see you. That's the trick :)

After years of networking, attending conferences, business trips, and handing out over 15,000+ business cards, I've come to a very interesting conclusion...
Business cards are useless. Don't get me wrong, I love a well designed business card on an excellent stock. But after years of handing these things out, I've realized instead of actually connecting with the person on the other side of the paper handshake, I was simply putting their cards into the "yes" pocket or the "no" pocket after an amazing interaction. That's it? That's what we do after making a solid connection?
