When someone says "Work Hard, Play Hard", they don't always know what that means.
Yeah, in theory, they know what it could mean... but have they lived it?
Have they hit their Rock Bottom so they know how hard it can be?
Have they been broke financially, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally?
Have they worked 80+ hours a week toward their dream or goal?
Have they failed over and over again in the pursuit of something amazing?
Do they create their lives, or are they living by default?
Here's my point:
People think it's so simple to live an entreperneurial lifestyle.
I mean, I just misspelled "entrepreneurial" and didn't have time to back and fix it!
To live this way isn't (or shouldn't be) an accident.
You should Definitely work your ass off. Share your knowledge/passion/heart/experience.
You should Definitely enjoy your life. Go travel, explore, eat fancy dinners, and post it on IG.
But it should be by Your design.
I've always wanted a simple yet robust life.
Hang out with my daughter, travel wherever sounds fun, enjoy my personal time, enjoy life with a special person by my side. Simple.
And so all those social posts about how someone just made $40k in a day? Could be true, for sure.
But that's not the FULL picture.
Here's the truth:
It's not always peaches and cream working for yourself.
All the responsibility for succeeding is up to you! No boss, no "management", no "higher-ups".
It's difficult to make $10k/mo. You still have bills, contractors, taxes, etc. You end up with maybe half of that if you're lucky.
It's difficult to make $25k/mo. Same payables, more lifestyle cost and maybe you walk away with $8-10k/month.
You want to make 7 figures? Are you INSANE?!
Now we're talking bookkeepers, tax person, a small team, marketing strategies upon marketing strategies, product launches, course launches, social media teams... um, and don't forget to DO THE WORK YOU WERE PAID FOR! :)
Oh, and you want it all automated?! Then you're getting a kickass manager to run it all for you at an appropriate salary/commission.
It's work, people. It really is.
That's the truth.
It's much more difficult than any 9-5 I'm aware of, but it really is rewarding.
The truth is that some of you reading this are Totally up for the challenge.
Some of you are already living this life.
And some of you need help before you hit that wall.
If you need some insights, mentorship, or if you need assistance creating the systems that set you up for success, then please reach out.
I know how this goes. And after 13 years, I've seen it all. Trust me :)
I'm here if you need me.
If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that Michael is a genuinely cool guy. Yes, he's still a total goofball, and yes, he's super handsome. And yes, he's writing this description. Point made ;)
